A Task-Based Approach to Teaching Tenses in Oral Performance

Abstract

This research attempt to reach an understanding of the extent to which task-based approach can serve the learner to be competent in using tenses in oral performance. In pursuit of obtaining accurate outcomes from participants, a quasi-experimental method and semi-structured interview were adopted. This study’s population is a sample of 65 students of English, from second year License degree at the department of English language at KMUO of Ouargla in the academic year 2017/2018. This study results show the effectiveness of task-based approach in the use of tenses. Additionally, the collected data and the analysis of the findings represent a noticeable progress in the students’ use of tenses in oral performance.يهدف هدا البحث إلى التحقق من مدى نجاعة المنهج التعليمي القائم على المهام , و تبيان إلى إي مدى يمكن لهدا المنهاج خدمة التلاميذ لتطوير قدراتهم في استعمال الأزمنة من خلال الأداء الشفهي . تم اختيار60 طالب في اللغة الإنجليزية للسنة الثانية ليسانس على مستوى جامعة قاصدي مرباح للسنة الجامعية 2017/2018 تحديدا حصة التعبير الشفهي كحالة دراسية لهدا البحث.وقد انتهج الباحثون طرق مختلفة لجمع البيانات حول هاته الدراسة ,من بينها المنهج التجريبي كما تم جمع معلومات نوعية عن طريق حوار مسجل مع أستاذ المادة وعدد من التلاميذ المتطوعين في هدا البحث. أثبت تحليل المعطيات المتحصل عليها من الوسيلتين المستخدمتين في البحث تقدما ملاحظا من خلال استعمال .التلاميذ للأفعال المصرفة خلال حصة التعبير الشفهي

Cette recherche tente de comprendre dans quelle mesure l'approche basée sur les tâches peut aider l'apprenant à être compétent dans l'utilisation des temps dans la performance orale. Dans le but d'obtenir des résultats précis des participants, une méthode quasi-expérimentale et un entretien semi-structuré ont été adoptés. La population de cette étude est un échantillon de 65 étudiants en anglais, en licence de deuxième année au département de langue anglaise au KMUO de Ouargla au cours de l'année académique 2017/2018. Les résultats de cette étude montrent l'efficacité de l'approche basée sur les tâches dans l'utilisation des temps. De plus, les données recueillies et l'analyse des résultats représentent un progrès notable dans l'utilisation des temps par les élèves dans la performance orale.
