Abstract: The climate in the Saharan regions in our country is characterized by a cold and dry winter and a very hot summer. The building materials used in these areas are concrete and cement mortar and bricks, which have poor thermal resistance which generates huge expenditure of energy consumption of air conditioning and heating and significantly increased costs in construction. To remedy this problem it is necessary to install insulating materials. This study is launched in order to produce clay samples with good thermal properties to limit energy consumption and increase thermal comfort in the home. The objective of this study is to prepare clay samples and then examine them with some thermal tests. We made some of these models using local ingredients (Drine) and we used four percentages ranging from (0% to 25.23%) the weight of the clay. The results showed that the increase in percentage of die is beneficial for improvement. Thermal properties and a reduction in energy consumption
