Psychological & Educational Studies Reviewen_US
The study aims to describe and analyze errors in reading and spelling in Arabic language in a sample of fourth year primary students. The sample consisted of 33 students, 13 of whom show poor reading and spelling and 19 of whom are moderately or above average (ordinary) performers. For data collection, two read and spelling tests prepared specifically for this study were used. Using the descriptive method and after statistical analysis, we have achieved results leading to errors in reading and spelling of the type: omission, substitution, addition, repetition, reverse reading, confusion, and errors due to the privacy of the Arabic language. Also, there is a correlation between the reading speed and the number of errors (R = 0.85). There is a statistically significant difference between those with difficulties in Arabic and ordinary in the number of errors in reading, and also in the time of readingen_US
