Abstract: Freud was a cultivated reader. Literature occupies, indeed, a primordial place in his personal life and his scientific researches. Like some psychiatrists before him, he tends to read literary works by seeking in them the writer's personality or his psychic pathology. The Viennese researcher also considers the literary creator as a child who remains alive in the adult and who continues to play, to adapt his reality.
