MYTHE ET REECRITURE DU MYTHE DE LA REINE DE SABA EVOLUTION DE LA REECRITURE DANS UN CADRE PLURICULTUREL ET DIACHRONIQUE

Abstract

Comme le laisse entendre l’intitulé de cette thèse, il s’agit d’étudier l’évolution des différentes représentations littéraires autour de la reine de Saba, de l’éclat de son mythe aux processus de convocation et de transformation qui permettent de construire un nouveau discours. Appartenant à la culture occidentale et orientale, l’histoire de ce mythe fondateur, commune aux trois grandes religions monothéistes, constitue le modèle de la rencontre prodigue pour dialogue et (ré) écriture. Nous nous sommes intéressé à l’expansion de ce mythe des textes religieux par la réécriture dans et par les différents textes littéraires de cultures et d’époques différentes. Ce personnage énigmatique a hanté l’imaginaire et a traversé les siècles, les langues et les littératures. Innombrables sont les écrivains, poètes et dramaturges qui ont fait de son apparition un personnage modèle, en restituant son caractère et sa personnalité à travers une réécriture imaginaire, pour en faire une héroïne de fiction à part entière. Notre travail porte exclusivement sur la réécriture de ce mythe dans la littérature d’expression française, ce qui nécessitera de solliciter les notions ici essentielles du mythe et d’intertextualité, de réécriture et de mythocritique.

As the title of this thesis suggests, the aim is to study the evolution of the different literary representations around the Queen of Sheba, the brilliance of her mythical convocation and transformation processes that allow the construction of a new discourse. Belonging to both Western and Eastern culture, the history of this founding myth, common to the three great monotheistic religions, constitutes the model of the prodigal encounter for dialogue and (re) writing. We have been interested in the expansion of this myth of religious texts by rewriting in and through the different literary texts of different cultures and times. This enigmatic character has haunted the imagination and has crossed the centuries, languages and literatures. Countless are the writers, poets and playwrights who have made her appearance as a model character, restoring her character and personality through imaginary rewriting, to make her a fiction heroine in her own right. Our work focuses exclusively on the rewriting of this myth in French-language literature, which will require us to solicit the essential notions of myth and intertextuality, rewriting and mythocriticism.
