Sustainable tourism development in Algeria: prospects and constraints

Abstract

Tourism is considered one of the promising industries in the future. Adding a sustainability concept we will have a compound related to the strategic planning and its challenges and opportunities. As a result, the sustainable tourism became a style which many international touristic institutions depend on. Algeria is one of the countries which have valuable touristic competencies which can make it an attractive destination for tourists across the world. Therefore, the state of Algeria has adopted a strategy to develop and enhance tourism in the country. Sustainable tourism is considered as one of the contemporary issues by many countries for its many contributions such as increasing capital income. Thereby, it is considered one of the main incomes to the national income including its inclusive urban development to various natural, humanitarian and material spheres. In this sense, we can say that tourism development is a mean for economic development.
