Abstract: Spreading false and fake news is considered a serious crime that threatens the security of the Algerian society (Algerians.( Social media got a source to such crimes. Therefore, the government raised the alarm to combat this phenomenon which has treacherous impacts. The Algerian legislator adjusted the penal law N 6-20. The article 196 of the penal code stipulates:" a prison sentence for 1 to 3 years to false news and disinformation generators. And a fine payment of 100 to 300 thousand for breaking the law
