The brexit from the European Union, a culture and identity perspectives

Abstract

The results of the British referendum on the membership of the European Union formed shock waves across Europe, as the British case raised question marks about the fate of European integration in light of the crises that the EU is experiencing. Based on the cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede, it appears to us that Britain had and still has feelings against European institutions, and it has never been eager to give up its national identity in favour of a common European identity.
