Abstract: Algeria have witnessed many experiences in the field of teaching and made various efforts for the sake of developing the already mentioned field in its different levels. To reach this goal, Algeria adopted three educational approaches in order to enhance the education and learning in the three stages. This research paper dealt with the textual approach in teaching the Arabic language in middle school phase in the second generation and investigated to what extent this approach succeeded in reaching communication and developing the intellectual and cultural capacities of the learner and enriching his linguistic competency
