The Internal and External Conflicts

Abstract

Conflict is a problem experienced by the character, while the mind can be said as a feeling that exists within a person. This study aimed to find (1) How can internal and external conflict of main characters in the raven and tell-tale heart by Edger Allan Poe be happened This study was descriptive qualitative using intrinsic approach to find internal and external conflicts of main character that were appeared from the tow selected works by Edger Allan Poe, The data analysis techniques used in this study is based on the psychoanalysis theory includes internal and external conflict theory. Also, follow the principles of data analysis methods, primary data, and secondary data. The findings showed one internal and external conflict in both selected works of Edger Allan Poe. The two internal conflicts consist of man vs. self and the two external conflicts consist of man vs. man and man vs. nature. Concerning Freud's psychological criticism, the personality structure of id, ego, and superego dominates the personality of the protagonist, which causes internal and external conflicts in the selected works of Edger Allan Poe.

الصراع هو مشكلة واجهتها الشخصية ، في حين أن العقل يقول على أنه شعور موجود داخل الشخص. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى اكتشاف كيف يمكن حدوث الصراع الداخلي والخارجي بين الشخصيات الرئيسية في الغراب والقلب الواشي بقلم ادغار الان بو. كانت هذه الدراسة وصفية نوعية باستخدام نهج جوهري لإيجاد الصراعات الداخلية والخارجية للشخصيات الرئيسية التي ظهرت من الاعمال المختارة من قبل ادغار الان بو. تعتمد تقنيات تحليل البيانات المستخدمة في هذه الدراسة على نظرية التحليل النفسي التي تتضمن نظرية الصراع الداخلي والخارجي. مع اتباع مبادئ طرق تحليل البيانات والبيانات الأولية والبيانات الثانوية. أظهرت النتائج الصراع الداخلي و الخارجي في كل من الأعمال المختارة لإدغار آلن بو. يتكون الصراع الداخلي بين الإنسان مقابل الذات ، ويتكون الصراع الخارجي من الإنسان مقابل الإنسان والإنسان مقابل الطبيعة. فيما يتعلق بالنقد النفسي لفرويد ، يهيمن هيكل الشخصية للهوية والأناوالأنا العليا على شخصية بطل القصص المختارة، مما يتسبب في صراعات داخلية وخارجية
