Investigation the of Effect of Interactive Video Games on English Language Acquisition The Case Study of Undergraduate Students of English at Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla

Abstract

Learning English through video games offers authentic context and tools for learners. When they play, they automatically discover and learn the language naturally in a virtual context. Repetition in playing games is essential to remember the vocabulary and concepts. This enhances the listening skills and improves the reading skills. In some video games, conversation is used to exchange with the others. Does this imply to our participants in this research study? The main objective of this work is to investigate whether our learners acquire more skills in learning English through video games. The results of the questionnaire show the positive impact that video games have on learners’ language acquisition and attitudes towards learning English.

Apprendre l’anglais à travers des jeux vidéo offre un contexte et des outils authentiques pour les apprenants. Lorsqu’ils jouent, ils découvrent et apprennent automatiquement la langue naturellement dans un contexte virtuel. La répétition dans les jeux est essentielle pour se souvenir du vocabulaire et des concepts. Cela améliore les compétences d’écoute et améliore les compétences en lecture. Dans certains jeux vidéo, la conversation est utilisée pour échanger avec les autres. Cela s'implique-t-il pour nos participants de cette étude de recherche? L’objectif principal de ce travail est d’étudier si nos apprenants acquièrent plus de compétences dans l’apprentissage de langue Anglaise à travers les jeux vidéo. Les résultats du questionnaire montrent l’impact positif des jeux vidéo sur l’acquisition de la langue et les attitudes des apprenants à l’égard de l’apprentissage de l’anglais.

إن تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية من خلال ألعاب الفيديو يوفر منهجا طبيعيا للمتعلمين. فهم يكتشفون تلقائيا اللغة ويتعلمونها بشكل طبيعي في سياق افتراضي. فالتكرار في ممارسة الألعاب ضروري لتذكر المفردات والمفاهيم و هذا يعزز مهارات الاستماع ويحسن مهارات القراءة. في بعض ألعاب الفيديو ، يتم استخدام المحادثة للتبادل مع الآخرين. فهل هذا ينطبق على المشاركين في هذه الدراسة ؟ إن الهدف الرئيسي من هذا البحث العلمي هو التحقيق فيما إذا كان المتعلمون المشاركون يكتسبون المزيد من المهارات في تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية من خلال ألعاب الفيديو. تظهر نتائج الاستبيان التأثير الإيجابي لألعاب الفيديو على اكتساب المتعلمين للغة واتجاهاتهم المتحمسة نحو تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية.
