Abstract: This study aims to assess the current state of health of the cork oak (Quercus suber) and its evolution in the forest of Zouagha (Mila). For this, eight plots were chosen at random. The dendrometric parameters measured are the diameter at 1.3 m above the ground and the total height of the trees, thus morphological observations were made on the aerial part of the same samples and analyzed by the tree architecture method (ARCHI). The average density of cork oak in this forest is 157±24 individual/ha with an average basal area of 27.09 ± 8.53 m2/ha. The diagnostic results show that the majority of trees in these plots are currently in classes of the ARCHI R type with a rate of 51.1%; comes in second position the ARCHI Healthy type with a percentage of 39.2; and the ARCHI S type records a low rate (7.3%). The ARCHI D and ARCHI I types are almost absent. The sanitary condition of these plots is quite good, despite the negligible presence of standing dead trees.
