Abstract: In this dissertation, we proposed and simulated hexagonal structures of a biosen- sor based on photonic crystals PC-2D of biomolecules based on a cavity coupled with a waveguide. This work was carried out with circular distributions of silicon rods with a refractive index of 3.46 RIU, in a background of air with a refractive index of 1 RIU, then calculated the band gap by the PWE method, and analyzing the results using FDTD, we worked on the application of detection of blood components and relied in improving the structure on changing the number of measuring rods. The results showed that with an increase in the number of measuring rods, the sensitivity increased, as we obtained the highest quality factor of 1236.83 and a merit factor of up to 65.14 (RIU)−1 at N=18 rods and a maximum sensitivity of 124.83 nm/RIU at N=54 rods.
