Abstract: Various factors (the nature of the region, demographic growth and climate) lead to an unstable state of water resources in the Ouargla Basin. Here comes the role of the Water Resources Department in developing a methodology for providing the quantity of water and determining the appropriate quality for the various sectors (domestic use, agriculture and industry). For this reason, we will study supply and demand in order to facilitate the management of available water resources to reduce excessive water consumption, taking into account the nature of the region and the problems it faces, and distribute it systematically to sectors that need large quantities of water, especially the agricultural sector. Then, using software codes, we will track the development and distribution of agricultural areas and water bodies over the past years and determine whether they are increasing or decreasing and compare them to water consumption in the first part of our study
