Abstract: The objective of this work is to develop a circularly polarized RFID passive tag antenna for UHF applications designated for operating within 902-928 MHz. In our design, we used a meandered-loop structure to minimize the size of the antenna tag, excited with two stubs based on a T-match. We propose a structure of FSS that placed as a reflector with antenna for improving its performance. Our Tag structure is a disc having a radius of 32 mm and a height of 1.3 mm, with a gain of 1.91 d Bi c without FSS and 6.03 d Bi c with FSS. The proposed antenna design achieves a circularly polarized radiation with an axial ratio of AR = 2.27 d B without FSS reflector and AR = 0.12 d B with FSS reflector. The bandwidth of our design covering the UHF band (902-928 MHz) with a circularly polarized radiation and enhanced gain.
