Abstract: This thesis proposes a comprehensive study aimed at first evaluating the antioxidant properties of selected porphyrin derivatives, including nickel tetraphenyl-porphyrin (NiTPPH2), meso-tetraphenyl-porphyrin (TbiPPH2), meso-methyl tetraphenyl-porphyrin (TPPH2 (o-methyl)), and zinc tetraphenyl-porphyrin (ZnTPPH2 (p-methyl)), by assessing their antioxidant activities using electrochemical and spectroscopic means. Additionally, interaction parameters between these derivatives and DPPH radicals as well as the superoxide anion were calculated to elucidate their potential mechanisms of action. Secondly, the study aims to evaluate the antimutagenic properties by conducting experimental evaluations to determine the binding free energy and binding constants of these derivatives with DNA and BSA. The methodologies employed included electrochemical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry, and spectroscopic techniques, particularly UV spectral analysis. The validity of the results was confirmed through molecular docking using AutoDock tools.
