People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kassidi Merbah University Faculty of Hydrocarbons, Renewable Energies, Earth and Cosmic Sciences THESIS Presented for the MASTER degree in sciences In: hydrocarbon geologyen_US
This research effectively contributes to a deeper understanding of the subsurface structure of the Gour Oomelalen area (GO), located in central Hoggar, a region characterized by significant geological complexity due to the diversity and intertwinement of rock formations and tectonic structures from various geological periods. The study primarily focuses on highlighting the fault systems that characterize this region. It aims to identify the properties of these faults in terms of their geographic orientations, depth of occurrence, as well as their density and distribution across different parts of the studied area. The processing and analysis of aeromagnetic data led to the identification of several significant magnetic anomalies, which enabled more accurate delineation of fault locations in addition to understanding their spatial distribution in the region. The results achieved represent a valuable contribution to understanding the area's subsurface structure and assist in reconstructing its geological history and the sequence of tectonic events it has experienced.en_US
