| Abstract: | Our research aims to assess the operational performance of the Ifri El-Koura demineralization plant located in Ouargla Province, which utilizes reverse osmosis technology for the treatment of highly mineralized groundwater. The raw water exhibits a total dissolved solids concentration of approximately 1800 mg/L, with a calcium content of 222.44 mg/L, indicating the necessity of such treatment.
The obtained results reveal that the plant achieves a 75% recovery rate of desalinated water, with the remaining 25% discharged as brine, from a total feed of 10,500 m³/day of raw water. This corresponds to nearly 7,875 m³/day of water meeting the standards for domestic and industrial use.
Overall, the findings demonstrate the effectiveness of reverse osmosis technology in improving water quality and emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring and maintenance to sustain optimal system performance. |
