The Role of Authentic and Non Authentic Materials in Enhancing Specialized vocabulary Acquisition

Abstract

The present dissertation aims at discussing the role of authentic and non authentic materials on enhancing ESP vocabulary learning. According to the context of learning English as a foreign language, what has been noticed, that many students face some problems such as the lack of awareness of vocabulary acquisition within ESP context. Thus by using the qualitative and quantitative methods we have discussed which kind of ESP materials (authentic or non-authentic) contribute more to vocabulary learning, Also we will examine the effects of those materials which are given within classroom syllabus, for Matter Sciences department. The present study attempts to investigate the effective role of materials on Matter and Sciences students’ vocabulary. The obtained results by means of a questionnaire to (60) students, and an interview to (02) teachers reveal that those students prefer using non-authentic materials because of their easy vocabularies; however the majority agree that authentic ones are somehow difficult. The results also show that the availability of authentic ESP materials has a big impact on enhancing students’ vocabulary learning.

La présent recherche à le but de discuté le rôle d’authentique et non authentique matériaux pour améliorer la prendre de vocabulaire spécialisé. Selon le contexte d’apprendre l’anglais comme une langue étrangère, ce quelle à était remarqué c’est que plusieurs étudient rencontrent quelque problème comme le manque De sensibilisation d’acquisition de vocabulaire dans le contexte du AOS. Alors par utilisé les méthodes qualitative on à discuté quelle type de AOS matériaux (authentique au non authentique) contribuer plus d’apprendre le vocabulaire, on plus on va examiné les effets de ces matériaux qui sont donnée dans la class syllabus. Pour la département de science de matière. La présente étude essaye d’investigué le rôle effectif de matériaux en vocabulaire des étudiants de sciences de matière. Les résultats obtenue par les outille de questionnaire à 60 étudiants, et un interview adressé à deux enseignants démontrent que ces étudiants préfèrent d’utilisé non authentique matériaux car ces vocabulaire sont facile ; pourtant l majorité sont agrée que authentique matériaux en quelque sorte difficile. Les résultats encore explique que la disponibilité d’authentique matériaux du AOS à un grand effet à renforcé l’apprendre de vocabulaire des étudiants.

يــدور محور هذه الدراسة حول استنباط ومناقشـة دور المواد المرجعية والغير مرجعية ( كالوثائق، والأقراص المضغوطة سمعية وبصرية، الواجبات، النصوص، الجرائد والكتب..الخ) المستعملة في اكتساب مفردات اللغة الانجليزية لأهداف خاصة وكذا الاطلاع على كل انعكاسات الجوانب الايجابية والسلبية اثر تطبيق استعمال هذه المواد على طلبة كلية المحروقات والطاقات المتجددة وعلوم الأرض والكون. حيث تطرقنا في الفصل الأول من هذه المذكرة إلى إلقاء نظرة عامة حول تاريخ الانجليزية للأهداف خاصة، وعلاقتها بالمفردات اللغوية،كـما تطرقـنا لتعريف المواد الأصلية وغير الأصلية ، وتوضيح دورها الايجابي والسلبي على طلبة السنة الاولى في قسم علوم المادة بجامعة قاصدي مرباح ورقلة. أما الفصل الثاني خصص فقط للدراسة التطبيقية من خلال دراسة وصفية وتحليلية والقيام بإجراء استبيان لإيجاد النتائج الكمية والملاحظة المباشرة لإيجاد النتائج النوعية و كذا تحليل هذه النتائج. ما يمكن توقعه من خلال هذه الدراسة أن للمواد الأصلية و غير أصلية دور هام في تحفيز اكتساب المفردات اللغوية، واستعمالها له تأثير ايجابي و سلبي في مسار اللغة الانجليزية للأهداف الخاصة.
