| Abstract: | This paper addresses a single verse recited by Omani poet Aqeel Al Lawati on a religious occasion held sacred by a Muslim sect. He recounts the suffering of this sect, its members, and the extent of the oppression and injustice directed at them as they call for their most basic rights. The research was titled (Poets’ Responses to the Poetry of Aqil Al-Lawati: A Study in Light of the Audience’s Eloquence) and in it we followed these poetic outbursts that the poets made as the receiving audience through analysis and criticism. The research reached several results, the most prominent of which is that the poets greatly opposed Al-Lawati’s outbursts. Especially since he relied on the emotional and sentimental side of the recipient, which represents the cornerstone in arousing the passion of the masses in the various textual texts that the public’s eloquence seeks, and which represents the main theme in the act of mass communication that this verse enjoyed despite the narrowness of its textual space. In the field of aesthetic aspects adopted by the responses, we find that the poets varied in their intertextuality with the poet Aqil Al-Lawati, and they also varied in their use of rhetorical styles and did not limit their poetic composition to one rhetorical style |
