Radiation protection study in nuclear medicine at Mohamed Boudiaf Hospital, Ouargla

Abstract

Our study on ionizing radiation protection in the Nuclear Medicine department offers a comprehensive overview. We start with the fundamentals of radiation physics, including its classifications and interactions with matter (photons and electrons). We also discuss the biological effects of radiation and define the key quantities used in this field. Furthermore, we provide an overview of nuclear medicine, highlighting the main equipment used for both diagnosis and treatment. We then delve into the principles of radiation protection and the relevant laws. The study also features a presentation of the most prominent international organizations specializing in radiation protection, along with protective tools and the classification of areasas outlined by the World Radiation Organization's guidelines

يتلخص عملنا في هذه الدراسة حول الحماية من الإشعاع المؤين في قسم الطب النووي، في استعراض شامل بدأ بـأساسيات فيزياء الأشعة، وتصنيفاتها، وتفاعلاتها مع المادة (فوتونات وإلكترونات). كما تناولنا التأثيرات البيولوجية للإشعاع، وعرّفنا بـالمقادير الأساسية المستخدمة في هذا المجال. قدمنا أيضًا لمحة عن الطب النووي، مسلطين الضوء على أهم الأجهزة المستخدمة فيه، سواء للتشخيص أو العلاج. ثم انتقلنا إلى مبادئ الحماية من الإشعاعوالقوانين المطبقة في هذا الصدد. تضمنت الدراسة عرضًا لـأبرز المنظمات الدولية المتخصصة في مجال الحماية الإشعاعية، وأدوات الحماية، بالإضافة إلى تصنيف المناطق كما ورد في بيانات المنظمة العالمية للإشعاع
