The Contribution of Task Based Approach in Enhancing Learners’ Writing

Abstract

Task Based Approach (TBA) has gained popularity in the field of language teaching since the last decade of the 20th century and significant scholars have joined the discussion and increased the amount of analytical studies on the issue. The present study aims at investigating the enhancing of writing under the task based approach. To achieve this aim, we chosen the sample third-year Economics at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla. We hypothesize that if the task based approach improves the learners’ writing skill. We adopted a needs analysis sheet to our sample, and we administered a pre-test and post-test to the sample to test the reliability of the model adopted. As might been expected, the results of the investigation revealed that the task based approach improves the ESP learners’ writing skill.

تهدف هذه الدراسة لإثبات تحسين الكتابة ضمن اعتماد المنهجية القائمة على الواجب ، حيث قمنا بأخذ طلبة سنة الثالثة من قسم الاقتصاد بجامعة قاصدي مرباح ورقلة كعينة لهذه الدراسة و قد افترضنا أن المنهجية القائمة على الواجب تحسن من مهارة الكتابة لدى المتعلمين ولبرهنة الفرضيات المطروحة قمنا بتحليل احتياجات الطلبة بالإضافة إلى إجراء اختبارين احدهما قبلي و الأخر بعدي للتأكد من مصداقية النموذج المطبق∙ و كما كان متوقعا أظهرت النتائج المتحصل عليها بان طلبة اللغة الانجليزية كلغة اختصاص قادرون على تحسين مهارة الكتابة لديهم باعتماد المنهجية المذكورة سلفا∙

L'approche par tâches (AT) a gagné en popularité dans le domaine de l'enseignement des langues depuis la fin du XXe siècle, et de nombreux chercheurs se sont intéressés à cette question, multipliant les études analytiques. La présente étude vise à examiner l'amélioration de l'écriture grâce à l'AT. Pour ce faire, nous avons sélectionné un échantillon d'étudiants de troisième année d'économie à l'Université de Kasdi Merbah, à Ouargla. Nous avons émis l'hypothèse que l'AT améliorerait les compétences rédactionnelles des apprenants. Nous avons utilisé une grille d'analyse des besoins auprès de notre échantillon et avons administré un pré-test et un post-test afin de vérifier la fiabilité du modèle adopté. Conformément à nos attentes, les résultats de l'étude ont révélé que l'AT améliore les compétences rédactionnelles des étudiants en anglais de spécialité.
