Abstract: This report presents a comprehensive study on Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), focusing on their design and implementation within traditional local networks. The main objective of this work is to explore how VLAN technology allows logical segmentation of network resources and users, overcoming the limitations imposed by physical architecture such as geographical constraints and addressing issues. The implementation of VLANs significantly enhances overall network performance and security. By logically grouping users and resources, regardless of their physical location, VLANs provide enterprises with greater flexibility in managing internal communications and enforcing access control policies. This project also highlights various configuration methods, inter-VLAN routing techniques, and practical deployment scenarios, demonstrating the importance of VLANs in modern network infrastructures.
