Abstract: The purpose of this study was to draw attention to the distinctive features of digital information in the era of social media. Along with highlighting the various ramifications that call for the legal regulation of this new form of information, as well as to identify the challenges faced by legislators in balancing the right to information on one hand and the regulation of the unlimited flow and the related legal issues impacting users and platforms on the other .The study reached several findings, the most significant ones are the absence of clear regulations and laws governing the exchange of digital information in the social media era due to the difficulty of legislation, stemming from the challenges of controlling the origins, forms, and mechanisms of information usage and dissemination, as well as the rapid advancements in platform types and their constant updates.
