This study focused on the interpretation and analysis of well test data of Well-1 in HMD FIELD using both conventional interpretation techniques and KAPPA Saphir software. The different stages of data preparation, diagnostic analysis, model matching, and pressure transient interpretation were performed in order to characterize reservoir behavior and evaluate well performance. The conventional Horner interpretation provided preliminary reservoir characterization through semi-log analysis, whereas modern KAPPA Saphir offered a more detailed and reliable interpretation using advanced diagnostic and model-matching techniques. The obtained results indicate that the reservoir is characterized by moderate permeability and satisfactory reservoir pressure, while the positive skin factor reflects the presence of near- wellbore damage affecting fluid flow toward the Well-1. The comparison between the conventional and modern interpretation approaches highlighted the importance of advanced pressure transient analysis tools in improving the accuracy of reservoir characterization and supporting production optimization and reservoir management decisionsen_US
