| en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis addresses the modeling and control of an oil drilling string system for the mitigation of torsional stick-slip vibrations. First, a comprehensive study of the rotary drilling system is presented, covering its equipment, operating parameters, and the various types of vibrations encountered during drilling operations. Two lumped-parameter mechanical models are developed: a 2-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) model and a 3-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) model. Both models reproduce the dynamic behavior of the drill string and the stick-slip phenomenon through the Karnopp friction model. RESUME m IIII : II Subsequently, the modeling of the three-phase induction motor and its associated frequency converter is established using the Park transformation. Finally, a Direct Torque Control (DTC) strategy based on the Takahashi method is designed and applied to the complete system (induction motor coupled to the drill string). Simulation results obtained under MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate the effectiveness of the DTC strategy in suppressing stickslip vibrations and achieving precise rotational speed regulation, even under variations of the Weight on Bit (WOB). | - |
