Abstract: The study of camel meat sector in the northern Algerian Sahara showed a slight increase in consumption in recent years, despite the dominance of other species (sheep and cattle), particularity due to the eating habits of Algerian society, especially non-Aboriginal. The analysis of the data of the animal's sales in the Oued Souf markets, Ouargla and Ghardaia. Has showed a clear demand of Sahraoui camel population in the three markets, especially that of Oued Souf . Furthermore, the analysis of slaughter rhouses data during the recent years has noted a clear increase of camel slaughter in Oued Souf and a decrease in Ghardaia and Ouargla. About marketing channels of camel meat, four circuits have been highlighted. However, the contribution of camel meat to supply the major cities of northern Algerian Sahara (Ghardaia, Ouargla and Oued Souf) remains until now limited
