Abstract: Ontologies are explicit conceptualization for logic processing specifications. Building ontology is a difficult task. The ability to obtain semantic concepts directly from a language exchange is a new methodology that can help reduce the complexity of the problem. In this paper, we propose a new approach to construct domain ontology from the conceptual data models. This approach takes into account the syntactic and semantic aspects of conceptual data models and uses information retrieval techniques to define a similarity measure calculated based on the basic concepts of the conceptual data models. Thus, we present a methodology for extraction and construction of ontology from the conceptual data models.
