This article has been treating one subject on modern literary criticism, which is based on a rhetorical concept rooted in our Arab heritage. We are definitely trying to discuss the aesthetic function of literary image that inspired its foundations of metaphor according to rhetorical concept of our ancestors. So what is the nature of the impact that caused the research of metaphor in the field of literary image that has shown remarkable maturity in Western critical ?
