Abstract

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) theory emerged and spread in almost all countries, including the countries of the Arab world and the Arab States of the Gulf, where qualified instructors contributed to the definition of this theory. They founded and published it as a "science" that influences in the development and success of human development. A lot of therapeutic techniques adhered to this theory developed by scholars who are not specialists in psychology, but were able to obtain amazing results in the field of psychotherapy. The present study aims to attempt to discover a psychotherapy using an NLP therapy technic called “Time line Therapy” to get to know the reality and limits using it for phobic patients. The author did not use all the elements of the original technic as Ericksonian hypnosis and knowing the first event. This technic has been applied to 5 Ss (subjects) suffering from simple phobia (specific phobia) from animals pets. The researcher relied on a questionnaire for the diagnostic of phobia», a questionnaire for the evaluation of phobia , the Maudesley scale of anxiety and avoidance and some elements taken from SECCA scale. The results were positive as all the symptoms disappeared for all Ss with variation in time of therapy ( from 10 to 20 minutes) .The phobic symptoms did not appear again after one, 3 and 6 months . So the author deduced about the efficacy of this technic in healing specific phobias.
