Abstract: Developed countries pay enormous importance to the educational system. Considerable efforts have been done to develop and improve this system with a focus on the quality of teaching through reinforcing pre-service and in-service training of teachers who constitute the basic pillars of the educational system. The state of teaching in Algeria within the competency-based approach, however, calls for urgent necessity to reinforce teaching skills within teachers. Our paper suggests a vision based on teachers self-study of teaching skills in order to satisfy their needs within the competency-based approach.
