Abstract: Barium sulphate deposits are the most dangerous problem of the Hassi Messaoud field, which is mainly formed from the incompatibility between the injection water normally used for cleaning and maintaining stable pressure of well and reservoir water. This work aims to study the formation of barium sulphate and how to prevent or treat it at the level of Hassi Messaoud field. After the treatments of the different wells of the HMD field, we found that the AD32 inhibitor is the most widely used protective solution to prevent the formation of barium sulphate. If it is formed, we use either Milling or Scale blaster.
