Abstract: The main objective of this study is to determine the treatment techniques available globally and in Algeria for the treatment of oil-polluted soil and water in general, and oil spills in particular, in order a theoretical study and an analytical one also in order to determine the techniques adopted by Algeria we conducted a field study at the BASP foundation. Through this study, we were able to identify four techniques for treating soil contaminated with spilled oil: biological treatment, chemical treatment, physical treatment thermal treatment, Through previous studies we learned that the best technology in terms of efficiency and speed is high As for the field study it became clear to me that Algeria relies on heat treatment (burning) and physical treatment (Solidifcation/Stabiliization).As for the treatment that can be applied to water we find: physical treatment which was appropriate in specific weather conditions, chemical treatment is efficient but has negative effects on the marine environment, thermal treatment is efficient but legally beneficial, biological treatment remains the most efficient and safe although it takes time.
