Investigating the Translatability of Idiomatic Expressions in Economic Discourse

Abstract

Translating idiomatic expression is one of the most complicated aspects in translation .this study examines the major issues of dealing with economic discourse IE , as well as, how much idiomaticity is conserved, deformed, or wasted. And what solutions and strategies may be available to minimize loses. The study employs a comparative analytical approach to demonstrate that LT is not facultative in translating idiomatic expressions ; however, in economic discourse it may be the only way for the translator to convey the most possible idiomaticity of IE taking into consideration the characteristics of economic discourse. Precisely, when dealing with financial transactions.The present study analyzes the difficulties encountered when translating idiomatic expressions in finance and banking commercial transactions from English into Arabic after taking an overview of FI texts and BCT texts . Meanwhile, highlighting the bad use of literal translation, googling and borrowing which is related to the lack of competence and poverty of restoration English Arabic economic glossaries

تعد ترجمة التعابير الاصطلاحية أحد أكثرالمسائل تعقيدا في الترجمة. تعالج هذه الدراسة المشاكل الرئيسية المتعلقة بترجمة الخطاب الاقتصادي, تركز على التعامل مع الخطابات الاقتصادية فضلاً عن مقدار الحفاظ على المصطلحات أو تشوهها أو إهدارها. وما هي الحلول والاستراتيجيات التي قد تكون متاحة لتقليل الخسائر. تستخدم الدراسة نهجًا تحليليًا مقارنًا لإثبات أن الترجمة الحرفية ليست اختيارية في ترجمة التعبيرات الاصطلاحية ؛ ومع ذلك ، في الخطابات الاقتصادية ، قد يكون هذا هو السبيل الوحيد للمترجم لنقل أكثر الاصطلاحات الممكنة من التعابير الاصطلاحية مع الأخذ في عين الاعتبار خصائص الخطابات الاقتصادية. على وجه التحديد عند التعامل مع المعاملات المالية. تحلل الدراسة الحالية الصعوبات التي تواجه ترجمة التعبيرات الاصطلاحية في المعاملات التجارية المالية والمصرفية من الإنجليزية إلى العربية بعد إلقاء نظرة عامة على نصوص المؤسسات المالية ونصوص التعاملات التجارية البنكية. وفي الوقت نفسه ، تسليط الضوء على سوء استخدام الترجمة ، والبحث على جوجل ، والاقتراض المرتبط بنقص الكفاءة وفقر تجديد معجم المصطلحات الاقتصادية الإنجليزية العربية.
