Abstract: CO2 injection presents a promising approach for enhanced oil recovery by combining efficient oil extraction with the reduction of CO2 emissions. In this innovative study and the first of its kind in Algeria. An experimental investigation was conducted to assess the efficiency of CO2 flooding in sandstone core samples taken from the reservoir rock of Hassi Messaoud’s field. A pure supercritical CO2 was used to flood the core samples, as a tertiary recovery technique, targeting the residual oil that remains unrecovered after secondary recovery (Waterflooding). The experiments were conducted under representative reservoir conditions. To monitor the process. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of miscible CO2 flooding on the recovery of residual oil that remains after waterflooding.
