The objective of this work is to study the influence of the formulation method of dune sand concrete on its mechanical characteristics. This research aims to valorize local materials by seeking an optimal formulation for dune sand concrete available in the Ouargla region. In order to achieve this objective, several experiments were conducted to evaluate the mechanical properties (compressive strength, tensile strength) of the concrete resulting from different formulation methods used. We used the standardized mortar method, the SABLOCRETE method, the BARON-LESAGE method, and the SCRAMTAIEV method. For each method, the dosages of the different constituents were determined, and the test specimens were manufactured following the same procedure. From there, more than 100 prismatic specimens were elaborated, with a granulometric correction by the addition of different proportions of alluvial sand: 0%, 50%, and 60%, and then tested at different ages to evaluate their mechanical strength. Following our experiments, we have selected two optimal compositions that offer significant mechanical strength and good cost-effectiveness. The first method, SABLOCRETE, which enables high mechanical strength. The second method, SCRAMTAEIV, has also demonstrated good results in terms of strength while providing cost savings on concrete components. |
