| Abstract: | The main objective of this thesis is to predict, avoid and evaluate the effectiveness of methods for treating various types of deposits, most notably barium and calcite, in the Hassi Messaoud field during the injection of treated water. Deposits are one of the most important problems faced by water injection systems in oil fields, especially when incompatible fluids are present. When two types of water react chemically and precipitate minerals when mixed, they can be said to be incompatible. Examples of this include injection water with a high concentration of sulfate ions and reservoir water with a high concentration of barium ions. Mixing these waters causes the precipitation of barium sulfate. The formation of this deposit is a challenge in oil and gas production as, once it forms, it clogs pipelines, valves, pumps and other production systems, leading to well shutdowns and significant economic loss. In this work we have provided a detailed and comprehensive review to understand the behaviors of this materials. In this study, we used the phreec program, which determines the presence of sediment resulting from mixing the injected water with the tank water and thus treatment before injection. |
