| Abstract: | This thesis explores the fundamentals, techniques, and optimization strategies related to Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD), an innovative drilling method that has emerged as a cost-effective and efficient alternative to conventional rotary drilling in specific well conditions. The study begins with a detailed explanation of CTD principles and system components, followed by an analysis of the various applications such as underbalanced drilling, horizontal drains, and well re-entry operations. Emphasis is placed on the operational advantages of CTD, including continuous circulation, minimal surface footprint, and reduced non-productive time (NPT). A real field case is examined to highlight practical challenges and successful optimization strategies. The thesis concludes by offering technical recommendations and future perspectives for enhancing CTD performance. |
