Abstract: This study, conducted within SLB’s Reservoir Performance division in Hassi Messaoud, validates the Vx Spectra Multiphase Flow Meter (MPFM) as a highly efficient alternative to conventional test separators. By combining a Venturi section with gamma-ray attenuation and PVT modeling, the inline Vx system successfully measures simultaneous oil, gas, and water flow rates in real time without physical separation. Field comparison results demonstrate that this technology eliminates stabilization time, drastically reduces surface footprint, provides superior data continuity, and lowers emissions and flaring, making it a more reliable and sustainable solution for modern reservoir surveillance and production optimization.
