Biostratigraphic Study based on feraminiferas in the Neogene Tafna Basin ( NWAlgeria): cases study of Bled Aina and Guetna section

Abstract

This biostratigraphic study aims to determine the relative age of the sedimentary deposits of the Tafna Basin (northwestern Algeria). through two geological sections located in the (Bled Aina and Guetna) areas. It is based on the study of planktonic foraminifera in order to determine the chronological framework of sediment deposition in both areas. The results show that the two studied areas within the Tafna Basin belong to the Late Miocene, based on the presence of the species Neogloboquadrina . This study contributes to a better geological understanding of the biostratigraphic evolution of the Tafna Basin, providing a fundamental basis for future research in these areas.
