This study aims to analyze the impact of occupational health and safety management on workplace accidents at INCO, a petroleum works company in Algeria, using a descriptive analytical approach based on a case study. The study relied on three main data collection tools: analysis of historical accident documents and records (2019-2025), interviews with HSE and human resources managers, and descriptive and correlational statistical analysis of key safety performance indicators. The results showed that the company possesses an integrated health, safety and environment management system certified according to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards. It succeeded in reducing the Total Recordable Incident Frequency Rate (TFAE) from 9.04 in 2021 (worst year) to 0.455 in 2025 (best year), an improvement rate of 95%, while recording zero fatalities throughout the study period. The results also revealed that the main causes of accidents are: unsafe human behavior (speeding, inattention, lack of flagmen), weak practical training for new workers, failure to secure equipment when working at heights, and poor near miss reporting culture. The year 2024 recorded a black spot with a sharp rise in road accidents to 9.4 per million kilometers (five times the average) and the first lost time injuries since 2021 (two accidents with 36 lost days). Quick corrective actions (revocation of driving licenses, mandatory flagmen, “Zero Day” program for new workers, defensive driving training) significantly improved performance in 2025. The study concludes that there is a strong inverse relationship between the application of occupational health and safety management and the reduction of workplace accidents. It recommends strengthening the reporting culture, activating the calculation of indirect accident costs, extending corrective actions to all work sites without exception, and conducting a comprehensive audit of working hours data (especially the 2024 anomaly) to ensure indicator accuracy.
