Abstract: Our article addresses the issue of the evolution of the educational termsdepending on the development of pedagogic approaches from objective approach to competency-basedapproach; and changing the terminology of the classicalschool to modern school. Terms are changedbecause the changing of roles and functions of key factors;specially the teachingprocess and the relationship betweenteacher and learner. Also the scientific progress that has an impact on education sciences, we choose the most important terms and speciallycompetence; and we choose the table of (Astolfi) whoselected 10 terms in the classical school and how they have evolved in the modern school.
