Abstract: This message presents a study that explores the utilization of a heat exchanger (water/soil) to cool the brake system in a driveworks system. The primary aim is to ensure a consistent distribution of heat within the soil along the water channel by applying the heat conduction equation and energy balance. An analytical model was proposed to determine water temperatures across the exchanger under a constant heat transfer condition, while a numerical model utilizing the finite difference method was developed for convective heat transfer. To validate the accuracy of both analytical and numerical models, an experimental study was conducted at the University of Ouargla, yielding qualitative and quantitative agreement during the verification process. Positive outcomes were observed in terms of improving the brake system's efficiency.
